Team Xecuter has designed a simple switch for all the Liteon drives that enables firmware full read/write. They have also included an On/OFF Led to show correct operation when switching to 0x72 vendor mode.

The installation is very simple and takes about 60 seconds if you have some small experience with a soldering iron.
